The same thing happened to me and I tightened the bolts thinking it would do the trick but the problem was a leaking clutch master cylinder, it was plain worn-out. I ordered a new one from Van-Again and put it in with no problem thanks to the fine instructions found in the archives. This is an easy do-it yourself job and I encourage you to do it right away.
