In Canada, we do have a different set of rights and liberties - they are
codified in a historically-new document called "The Canadian Charter of
Rights and Freedoms."

In my opinion, Americans enjoy far, far greater constitutional liberties
than do Canadians.
This "Charter document" is just that - a document. Canadians routinely have
their rights violated, even by the Federal Government, and our political
system and justice system does an inadequate job of protecting those
codiefied freedoms.
There are many examples of recent "gross violations", which I would be happy
to dicuss via p-mail.
This is a Vanagon list, so I'd prefer to not discuss them in this forum.
