Subject: FS 85 GL in New Jersey...
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

All, It is a sad day that I had hoped would never come but... Circumstance dictates that we must put our beloved Van up for sale. I would like someone on the list to take it because I know it would be to a good home. It is an 8 passenger, 1985, white, strong 1.9L water cooled, 4 speed manual, GL with 164K miles.

Work done from now back to when I got it... 1. Front bearings repacked with new outer on driver side. 2. New fuel pump. 3. New heater control valve. 4. New wheel covers (still have originals too). 5. New paint job, October/2001. No rust, solid body. 6. New back half coolant pipes done with marine flexible exhaust hose. 7. New water pump and thermostat housing. 8. New temp II sender. 10. New muffler. 11. New front caliper (driver side) and front brake pads. 12. New back brakes with new hardware. 13. New shifter assembly. 14. New exhaust collector pipe. 15. New O2 sensor. 16. New head gaskets with rebuilt heads. (25K ago) 17. Rebuilt instrument pod. Plus AFM fix with the case grounded, Rear heater taken out of the coolant system (one heater line new front to back and the other spliced with a nipple and hose clamps) Redline in the trans and always Castrol 20W50 every 3K in the crank case with Mahle filters. Does not use any oil between changes. It has AC but inoperative since I got it. Not sure what is wrong with the AC, never pursued it. All work completed by me with care. Will try to get my sisters digital camera for some pictures if you are interested. Better to see it first hand though. There are probably some things I have left out but this is the major work done. Things I have to address, my mirrors are droopy and my rear header pipe just developed a crack last week. If you take it before I fix it, price will be according to current shape. I have been on this list since I purchased the Van in 1999. I want thank the list for all the support and offer it to the list before I list outside. Let me know if you are interested and I will gladly show you the Van. My wife would like to get more for it because of all the money invested but I said we should be realistic and price it to sell. We are asking $1,200.00. We are located in Stanhope, NJ.

Richard and Annemarie 85 GL "Buba", currently for sale...
