Subject: Sliding Door Cable Busted & Door Stuck Closed
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Subject just about covers it.

I have an 84 Westy. While camping this past week, Cable and Bowden tube busted off near the rear lock.

I have a new cable coming this morning at the local dealer, that's the easy part. Does anyone know how to open the door so that I can have a bit better access to the rear lock assembly to attach the rear portion of the cable and bowden tube?

Bentley apparently indicates the rear lock has to be off in order to affix the Bowden Tube/Cable:

"Bowden cable is protected by clip from disengaging from lock. Changing of clip can only be done after removal of rear sliding-door lock"

Doing this is a bit harder to do when the door is shut :)

Waiting for wonderous wisdom on the matter.....

CC

Anybody got a trick or two up their sleeve?
