Good idea Marshall---

CLR will work good----

What will work faster---but you have to be real careful with it--is a light wipedown in diluted muriatic---

It'll make the rust stains go---POOF !!!!

It won't even bother the fiberglass either---just you---- :>)

Don't put anythng on the sensor----just loosen up the old one---crank it almost all the way out----having the new one real close----pop out the old----put in the new fast--no loss of coolant---done

Later,

Terry

Subject: removing rust on poptop from corroded rubber seal...

Hi Volks:

1.   My new poptop seal has arrived from BusDepot - yahoo! - and now I've got to remove the rust on the fibreglass left from the old seal.

I was planning on using CLR and a rag. Do you guys know of a better way to do it?

2.   My new TempII sensor has arrived. I was going to just R and R the old one. Should I use some sort of sealing compound or new gasket etc? (I've never done one of these before.)
