I LOVE this list!

Facing the axis of the RH wheel from outside the car on the passenger side, note that torque is applied in a clockwise direction to move the car forward.

Facing the axis of the LH wheel from outside the car on the driver side note that torque is applied in a counter-clockwise direction to move the car forward. (else the silly thing would simply rotate the front of the car on an axis perpendicular to the ground much to the dismay of the audience)

The intent of the exchange is to reverse the driven torque direction as seen by the driveshafts.

The RH shaft is under load CW, the LH shaft is under load CCW. (unless you drive in Australia or England) Then you have to swap passenger with driver in the first two paragraphs.

Exchanging the passenger side (LHD) shaft which in it's previous position was "driven" CW with the driver side (LHD) shaft will place the shaft in a CCW driven state.

As long as you have the driver side (LHD) shaft out lying on the ground you might as well save yourself some trouble and re-install it in the empty spot from whence you moved the passenger (LHD) shaft.

Unless you're in England or Australia. In those two locales one best take a break at the local between operations.

cheers,

pensioner
