I actually had a person pass me with one on.

My detector increased in speed of chirps and the signal level meter increased in strength too.

By the time he was right beside me my machine was going nuts. I saw it on his dash and then he moved on ahead and my detector began to settle down.

Don't know what it would have done to a cop's machine (effectiveness) and I'd be worrying about the radio energy emitted and the health consequences for the vehicle occupants.

It certainly wasn't a cop - it was a ratty old S-10 near Danville, VA.
