I was driving my van in traffic today and it started to overheat.  I'm now sure that the radiator fan switch is defective. Although this is a problem the bigger problem was that the rear heater let loose under the extra pressure or heat and dumped about a gallon of anti-freeze under the rear seat.  


Can anybody tell me how to bypass the rear heater with easily available parts?  I know that I could figure it out with a few trips to auto part stores but I would like to get it fixed quickly.  In order to do this without multiple trips to the parts store I would really appreciate a part list.


Any suggestions on removing coolant from the rear carpet?
