Subject: 1987 GL Coolant System Problems
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

Hey folks,

My vanagon sat for a couple of weeks while I was sick and hospitalized. I figured it would be a great time AC charged by a buddy of mine that has all that equipment.

He came over and started the van and let it idle while he recharged the AC. Suddenly a coolant hose or other blew and spewed out coolant all over my rear passenger side fender well area.

I was in the hospital until just last friday and because of my illness haven't been able to look at it. Hate to sound like an invalid but please help if you can.

I have some knowledge of aircooled but the vanagon watercooled system is foriegn to me.

Can anyone tell me what I need to look for.

Please offer any thoughts or advice if you can. Meanwhile we will be feeling our way through the system to first find the exact point of blow out and replacement of whatever needs replacing.

Thanks in advance,
