The new generation of Subaru engines (EJ series) is a totally different design to the unreliable EA-series 1.6 & 1.8 of the 80s. Subaru must have taken to heart somewhat belatedly) the issues with the EAs, and done proper high-milage trials to make SURE the EJs were reliable. I only hope the new EZ30 six will be as good, because the EA series is due to be replaced by 4-cylinder derivatives of the EZ. -- Andrew Grebneff 165 Evans St, Dunedin 9001, New Zealand <andrew.grebneff@stonebow.otago.ac.nz> Seashell, Macintosh, VW/Toyota van nut
