And you're right to. Every time an american rents a car up here, it takes forever to explain to them that They need to get the thing moving in first gear. Once it's going, they should shift to tenth, about when they'd shift their own car to second, then to one hundredth gear about when they'd be getting into third in an american car, and as they get up to cruising speed they should shift it into 'k' which is to the right and back, where fourth would be. To travel backwards they should put it into 'R' which stands for "Right where Reverse is in your car". I just let them figure out the exponential radio stations on their own, and tell them there's a slide rule in the door pocket.
