Hi Dave,

Your inverter would only be able to supply about 2.8 amps at 120v, which could never boil water, imo. That would be 30 amps from your battery, so watch out for that one. (rough numbers)

I would guess such a device would require 1000 watts or more. Using electricity to make heat is akin to shooting a flea with an elephant gun :)
