The difference being the glow plug sees really high temps about never and the exhaust stud sees really high temps about always.

I have BTDT. Fought it for a couple years before I finally gave up and pulled the exhaust and thermostat housing to get to the l/h rear upper stud. Took a couple hours to install the Keen-sert and now it's FIXED! I had tried every band-aid known to man. JB Weld, Loctite, helicoil... Finally Keen-sert. No more pulled stud.
