Subject: Tire rotation and placement, oops.
Content-Type: text/plain

Hi everyone. I did something really stupid when I put on my snow tires last fall. Rather than mark my summer tires with the positions from which I removed them - i.e. RR, LF, etc. - and then follow the usual rotation pattern, I numbered them 1 through 5. Why? Well, I don't know - I really can't imagine what I was thinking at the time. So needless to say, 6 months go by and I can't remember where I started the numbers - was 1 the spare, or was 5? Duh! Anyhow, I put the most worn of the 5 in the spare location, which left me with two tires about equally worn, a little more worn than the other two, which are also about equally worn. So... where should the most worn tires go - front or rear - so that come fall perhaps all 4 will all be worn about the same? Phrased another way, which tires wear out faster - front or rear? Oh... '90 Syncro with a pretty tight VC. Thanks!!
