Terry,

That's what I have been trying to get across!

its the relative size of the bits in contact that is important!

The large area of aluminium will show no appreciable signs of corrosion as a result of the galvanic reaction with the ferrous fastener, but a large bit of ferrous fastened with a small Al rivet will cause problems with the AL fastener.

In this case size does matter.
