Hi f[v]olks, I just resubscribed and it's good to see that the traffic and the fun are still at a high level. I was a member in the early days when Gerry ran the list and aka Bob Hoover was a regular contributor - before the splitties and loafs and syncros got their own list... I'm selling this van because I'm getting married and know that in the next couple of years I won't have time to give it the TLC it needs. It hasn't been used with any regularity for 2 years - stored outside. I am the third owner as far as I can tell. The 1st owners (Muncie,IN) treated the van lovingly and put the 1st 180k miles on it. The 2nd owner (Indianapolis, IN) was a young man who drove it daily but never used stove, fridge, water, etc. All repairs were done at a reputable VW shop in Indy. Me, I used the van for lotsa things, did a fair amount of the work myself, traveled in it, camped in it, etc. I have receipts for owner 2 and all my stuff. I've owned 3 other vanagons. General info: Yellow, white pop top, tan/green/brown interior 1.6l diesel ~210k mi, 10k since new head 4 speed tranny - 10k mi since rebuild Body is a 5 or 6/10, rust in the usual spots: seam on driver side mid panel under camping inlets completely rusted, spots on front lower grill, spot on passenger foot well, spot on ding in front of right rear fender well. Some spots starting around sliding door. Paint faded - I treated most of the rust spots and primered Interior was professionally cleaned before I got it. PO left 4 or 5 cigarette burns. Carpet 8/10, Seats/Bed 7/10, Curtains 7/10. Westy stuff 8/10 everything intact. Poptop in good condition, new seal 1998. Poptop canvas 8/10 with silver dollar size rip in left rear. It looks like it was caught in the hinge once. Poptop screen no tears. Rear screen for use when hatch is up. needs rear bake work, left drum is grabbing. front brakes were done before I stopped driving it. radio out. 4 Alpine speakers - 2 in doors, 2 over bed. I'll scan pictures for anyone interested. Located in Hagerstown, IN (East Central) near I-70, 45 minutes due East of Indy.
