Hello, I had a throwout bearing explode and sieze. When it died it decided to put a small amount of pressure on the pressure plate at all times, causing a squeak as the fingers of the pressure plate rubbed over the siezed throwout bearing. Bentley says "scores up to 0.3 mm are acceptable. I have flats (shiny area where pressure plate fingers contact throwout bearing) about 1.25 mm wide worn on the fingers of the pressure plate - had to drive home with this squeak (about 200 miles). Anybody know if the pressure plate is still good? Please email me directly at jboldway@bee.net |
