I'm sure the crack can be fixed although I've not personally done one. I have a decade of experience repairing damaged canoes and kayaks and would suggest you use kevlar cloth as part of your repair in addition to a high strength fiber glass cloth and a good epoxy resin. All these items can be found at www.johnrsweet.com He's located in northern VA he is a good friend of mine and although I won't benefit from this plug, I can say I have used his services, called him for advice and he has beenand he has always come through.
