Lets have another toak off that joint! I thought I heard you say "Put an Air Cooled in a Waser Boxer Body". On that conversion I'll just bet you could get all of the bad points from each engine / vehicle and not a single of the good points from either. I think the established fix for dead Waser boxers is Saburu or I 4 conversions. The established fix for rotted out Vanagons is the old demon crusher after the engine and tranny core have been striped out. If you try to alter the natural order of recycling you'll regret it. I've stripped down both Waser Boxers and Air Cooled Vanagons getting them ready for the crusher and what appears to be a few differences when viewed from the curbside turn into a hundred and fifty pounds of bolts, nuts, hoses, flapper valves, engine mounts and Yada Yada Yada! when you get your salvage stack built. It could possibly be a good project for inmates in a prison with nothing to do for a few years and never planning on driving the vehicle.
