If you live in Portland, Oregon you can see the 2nd handle westy at Esquire
Motors.

There was a sky blue 1981 or 1982 westy in their lot, when I dropped my
westy off there this morning. When I peeked inside, I saw the brown vinyl
interior, and on the sliding door was the brown handle in back. It looks
like it is in the rear for folks in the rear bench seat to easily reach.
