My contribution:
--------------------
To Congressman Dick Armey:
I'm not big on writing government officials but I'm getting pretty fed up
with the abuse by Foreign Manufacturers in regards to Rebates that they
promise but seldom if ever pay.
I have to fight for almost every rebate on Computers and related
peripheral computer parts.
I recently received a rebate that I had to fight for twelve months.
I am currently fighting with custservice2@qps-inc.com to get a long
overdue rebate.
There are a few exceptions like Microsoft, Digital Research and Symantec
that perform well on their promised rebates.
I chase after my $20.00 and up rebates but I’ve just had to write of
several thousand dollars as lost to liars.
If one of the Network new shows did a segment on this subject the
response would shut down all the 800 phone lines nation wide and the
entire Internet E-mail community would overload with people that have
been systematically been cheated for many years.
I’d like to see something done to bring these fraud pros into line and
make them keep their promises.
Banning their products from importation into the US would get their
attention.
I think you can get a good overview of the problem if you just circulate
an inquiry form throughout several of the Government offices that asks if
those individuals feel that they’ve been cheated on rebates.
I’m hoping that the American public will once again stand up for ethical
business.
