You will love it!!! It's small but roomy at the same time.

The canvas (if old and original) is ok if well treated with a water repellent product; a tarp is needed for heavy rain. The canvas is not waterproof, it's water repellent!!! The Westy is roomier than my neighbor 19 feet GM camper.

>>>Cooking and cleaning dishes with these tiny kitchens ? do you use supplemental equipment ?<< NO.

>>portable toilets ?<< NO, learn to live with that or don't buy a westy.

>>do you use a portable setup or stop someplace that has showers ? Stay dirty is the first choice, second, get a campground with showers.

>>Cold... do you use some kind of portable heat or just dress warmly ?<< Get an 26 feet RV whit heat, buy a mummy sleeping bag or a 110V small heater.

In conclusion: I bought this van as a substitute for a tent!!! A lot better!!! Before our last big trip I was thinking that every 3 or 4 night we would take a hotel or motel to get some well-needed rest!!! We did sleep all of our 7 weeks in the van, like a baby...

Buy that damn van!!! You will stick to it for a few years…
