Subject: Thread cycles, WAS Coolant flush...best way to do it?

There should be a law against the infectious nature of this list. I think I've become addicted. As a result of this list my vanagon is in almost perfect condition now and I am on the lookout for a new project IF I can find a real fixer (probably a syncro. OHH NOOOO!)

I've been on this list 7 months now and it seems that certain threads occur again after about 4 to 6 months even though sign up rules say to check the archives first. Coolant thread is up top with tires, and unsubscribe requests from people who do not read instructions that want others to unsubscribe them.

I'm also guilty of asking the group before going to the archives and I suppose that new requests are as valid as old ones. I see now why the list originator says to check archives first.

I'm also guilty of initial unbridled enthusiasm and "overspending" on improvements. Bottom line this is a great list and full of helpful people and also a smattering of irreverent postings. he fact is that I do not regret one single improvement or upgrade to my van as costly as it was.

What impresses me most is that when help is REALLY needed or a list member seems confused, help comes almost immeidately.

The vanagon is certainly a great hobby. I never dreamed I would put so much time into a used car. This list even inspired me to get a new paint job on my 1988 Mercedes which I also love dearly. (No I did not do it myself or go to Maaco, but I did find a local paint place in Carlsbad CA [Carcoa 760-434-1413] that did a great job.)
