I just purchased a 91 Carat. On my drive home (bought it in Connecticut drove it

home to VA) as I was pulling off the exit ramp to take a pit stop, I had the unnerving experience of having the oil light and warning buzzer going off. I pulled into the gas station, called the guy I bought it from, and he said. Oh yeah, after driving on the highway for a while this happens. No big deal... all older VW's do that... blah, blah... Is this true? Anybody know what's actually causing this to happen?
