Typical VW.

Change to Mann filters if it really bugs you, that may help. If you get a gauge, you'll see it really is not an issue, the sensor is just too sensitive. Lot of previous hand wringing on this list because of this, even though the owner's manual (for YEARS) told owners to anticipate this; its normal.

You may check that you have the right oil pressure sender, there are a myriad of them, all fit the same hole, and look identical, save the color which corresponds to their measuring value (brown, black, white, blue, purple polka dots, green plaid, etc.)

I just purchased a 91 Carat. On my drive home (bought it in Connecticut drove it

home to VA) as I was pulling off the exit ramp to take a pit stop, I had the unnerving experience of having the oil light and warning buzzer going off. I pulled into the gas station, called the guy I bought it from, and he said. Oh yeah, after driving on the highway for a while this happens. No big deal... all older VW's do that... blah, blah... Is this true? Anybody know what's actually causing this to happen?
