Find another mechanic. The higher the viscosity, the greater the resistance to flow. More resistance = higher pressure.

Perhaps one or more of you know the answere to this:

Does either thick or thin oil give the engine more oil pressure or doesn't it matter?

I thought thicker oil say 20/50 weight created more oil pressure, but a mechanic told me that thinner oil, say 10/30 actually gave the engine more pressure.

Thanks for the help, Ron Semko Orlando, Florida
