Subject: Repairing rubber Vanagon floor
Content-Type: text/plain

Hi all. I've got one of those "base model" vanagons that has the wall-to-wall rubber floor mats rather than carpeting. There are a few spots that have tears - at the base of the accelerator pedal and near where the center seat tracks would be. Has anyone ever figured how to repair these mats? Nothing I've tried seems to bond to the rubber. Is it rubber? I'm assuming it is. Tried Pliobond, Goop, Barge Cement, super-glue, epoxy, polyurethane - the repair just pulled right apart as soon as it flexed. Even tried an inner tube repair patch applied from the rear - wouldn't stick. Any ideas?
