Method 1: Take apart the heater box and clean it out. You'll also want to at least run a damp bottle brush through the defroster and fresh air vent tubes... you'll need to take the dashboard completely out to get to all of this. It's really not that big of a job, but it can be intimidating if you've never done it before. And no, there's really no clean way to sneak the heater box out w/out removing the dash on an A2 car. Method 2: Lay a very slightly damp towel, in layers, over the defrost and fresh air vents. Turn the heater to HOT, put the blower fan on 3, raise the hood, and blow a can of Lysol into the air intake, located right under your windshield. There may be a big, dumb piece of thin plastic in the way. You'll need to play with the various vent settings to make sure the Lysol gets everywhere. Make sure you get a scent you like... citrus seems to dissipate the quickest. I had to do the exact same thing to my old Ranger, once, and it actually worked.
