This isn't what you were looking for, but take a look at the picture at http://pws.prserv.net/synergy/Vanagon/ -- shock cord to rear hinge, shock cord across luggage rack, nylon strap to metal bar inside left lower grille. Adjustable poles w/ wooden feet for soft ground. 8x10 plastic tarp.

Needs firmer attachment to van side for windy conditions (although the rig in the picture was on top of a hill that was gusting 35, had to add various extra guys) -- the tension needed fore-and-aft to keep the tarp from flapping in wind tends to pull out the grommets. Actually, sewing a line into that side of the tarp would cure the problem nicely.
