If you are still driving around without an oxygen sensor and without the missing parts (near your air distribution box) you are chasing the wind, my friend. Without a working O2 sensor, (and all the other sensors/injection components) your van cannot use the correct programming to manage the amount of fuel to inject.

Disconnecting things is not the answer. Assembling all the parts that VW designed into the fuel management system is the answer. The sooner the better.

Long term fuel imbalance can cause overheating, burned valves, and a host of other annoyances.

Well I checked all conections this weekend. And all is well the van starts fine. After running a few seconds it slowly stalls out. I have to start driving to get it to start. Once in gear it stalls quicker (if the engine has been running for about 1/2 hour it runs a little better) I set the idle about 1000 so when I put it in gear and the idle drops it won't stall, but it still does. When I take off the wiring from the coolant temp sensor the idle doesn't really change, it just smooths out. I really don't have the $ to pay someone to look at it. If I have to I will but I want to check all the things out I can on my own.
