Yup, you've got an open somewhere. If the AFM cover is open, measure continuity from internal terminals to correct terminal on ECU connector, otherwise from AFM connector to ECU connector. ONce you find which one's open, keep cutting the problem in half until you find the exact point -- sewing needles are very good to pierce the insulation without leaving a scar, much better than pins.

Bad idea -- you probably ground the plating off the contacts and may have a chronic problem with contact there. A soft pencil eraser is a better tool to scrub contacts with. But sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
