I'm sure the crack can be fixed although I've not personally done one. I have a decade of experience repairing damaged canoes and kayaks and would suggest you use kevlar cloth as part of your repair in addition to a high strength fiber glass cloth and a good epoxy resin. All these items can be found at www.johnrsweet.com He's located in northern VA he is a good friend of mine and although I won't benefit from this plug, I can say I have used his services, called him for advice and he has beenand he has always come through. Drop my name if you wish when yo talk to him. He's no spring chicken anymore, but he sells these materials cheaper than you can get them almost anywhere else in the US.
