I personally WOULD like to know how many members are on the list and how membership has changed over time. what would that hurt? The exact stats may not be available but the various list admins may have some dates/figures. The list is arguably for the benefit of vanagon owners and seeing how many subscribers there are would in one way measure its effectiveness to the overall community. I have never heard any figures and would be interesting to me. Vanagon trivia perhaps. If we knew approx how many vanagons are on the road then the number of subscribers would show the % of subscribership (is that a word?)

my 2 cents
