Just my two cents,

I had a pipe coated by Jet-Hot ceramic coatings.  As I do not drive my van
everyday and park it on the lawn (Yeah, the wife loves that) rust was a
significant problem.  I had the front header pipe coated and figured that I
would see how it lasted.  To their credit, the gus at Jet Hot did a great
job on the pipe and warned me that it would last longer than stock, but it
would not be rust proof.  After a year of being on the van, it shows only
minor wear.  No rust.  Some pitting on the outside, but looks close to new.
It looks like I could get at least three years out of it.

I ones I have are aluminized steel.  This is a corrosion preventative
treatment.  I have never heard of this part in stainless.

Does anyone know if anyone anywhere manufactures a Stainless Steel J-pipe
for the 1.9L Wasserboxer? (Preferably WITH the pre-drilled/tapped O2 sensor
hole)
If so, does anyone know the approximate price?
With the normal aftermarket j-pipes from Bus Depot selling for $80, you
could probably save money by replacing one of these every 10 years but the
stainless exhaust still intrigues me.
