I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but perhaps it is still early enough for you to cancel your order with Powells. You ordered the wrong book. The Haynes manual that you ordered from Powells (Haynes number 1029) covers aircooled Vanagons only. (Incidentally, I sell it much cheaper, for $12.95.) While Haynes does print a hardcover manual for watercooled Vanagons, it is sold only in the U.K. . However, I carry it because I import it myself, and sell it for $24.95 (my part number HAY3452). If part of a $50-plus order the price drops another 5% because the listmember discount kicks in. I also sell the Bentley manual (new) for $63.30 with listmember discount (my part number VV91). This is about the same as Powells charges for their used one in "less than standard condition." And, finally, I sell the Pocket Mechanic manual, which is a bit more abbreviated than the Haynes but truly glovebox sized for 16.95 (part # 2939). Like the Haynes watercooled manual, it is a UK-only printing, available in the U.S. only from the Bus Depot. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc.
