<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>hey all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>while we are on the subject of oil consumption, i want to throw something out there. i put a rebuilt 2.1 in my 90 gl last year. anyways, i guess the rings never seated properly because i get a little blow by that is noticeable around the breather tubes. well, 20,000 miles on the engine and i only use less then 1/8 qt of oil every 3000 miles! IMO that is not too bad. i drive 70+mph consistently on the highway and get around 18-19 mpg. i use castrol syntec 5/ 50 in winter and 20/50 in summer. now, compression is lower then i would like but not too far off the mark. it is around 120+ all around and has not changed in over a year. so, should i be worried with this little blow by even though no real oil consumption is present? how many miles do you predict i can get out of this engine?</DIV> <DIV>jason</DIV> <DIV>90gl</DIV></div><br clear=all><hr>Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: <a href='http://g.msn.com/1HM305401/43'>Click Here</a><br></html> |
