Subject: VW Stereo Wiring Help
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hi all- I am finally going to take the plunge and remove the ancient knob-and-dial panasonic stereo from the '82 Diesel. I bought a nice VW Premium Audio stereo from a friend who took it from his '98 (I think) Jetta. I have three questions about installing this stereo in my van-

1) I found a stereo harness at a junkyard, but I don't know which pins go to which wires. Does anyone have a source that diagrams which pins are which on the back of the stereo? It has two 8-pin plugs and on 10-pin plug. Can anyone help me? PLEASE?

2) What should I do about the funky polarity speaker wires in the Vanagon?

3) I guess I try the "1111" code first before going to a dealer?
