all syncros have 5 forward speeds and reverse. the granny gear is for s l o w travel, and 1-4 is the usual. i can do 70 with no problems at 3800-3900 rpm in 4th (with 215/75/15 tires).

there was a syncro weekender that had the bed, refrigerator, tables, wardrobe, poptop and luggage rack. i know it was out in '87, probably other model years as well.

i got mine on autotrader from a secondhand dealer in north carolina. there's currently one on there from a dealer in oklahoma city who doesn't answer email, and doesn't list a price. betcha it's a trade-in like mine was, and could be a good find.

also, there was a syncro westy listed here earlier today or last night for $7500 in minnesota. that's a *good* deal if it's in the shape this guys other cars are reported in.
