Great advice, Tim. Here is some additional advice:

1. DEFINITELY use a separate folder for anything from vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Just set up a rule using the "From:" field.. 2. Group e-mails by message thread. This allows you to delete ENTIRE threads that go on and on for days about religion, guns, illegal aliens, etc. with a single click (and keep them from cluttering up otherwise useful threads). Makes the list of conversation topic MUCH easier to follow and manage as well.

If you use Outlook Express 6.x, just go to View-->Current View-->Group Messages by Conversation If you use Outlook 2000, View-->Current View-->By Conversation Topic

You can also set up rules to automatically delete e-mail from specific people, with atachments, etc.
