<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV> <P>You need to replace it. Until then, you might try: </P> <P>Epoxy with steel fibers. </P> <P>Bought mine at a truck stop when I was bleeding the radiator and the threads stripped, spun around exorcist-like and a small I noticed a small crack in the plastic of the radiator adjacent to the bleeder. Residual Moroso Ceramic Engine Seal helped to seal up the screw somewhat (plus the pressure??) (I removed the bleeder screw and put it back in, and seemed to fit better with no leaks at that time). So I used the small crack to get air out of the system. Turned off the engine and used the Epoxy. (I was parked with the nose higher than the tail)</P> <P>This happened in Blithe California, and I driven to Miami Florida. Only now, I can't bleed the radiator again. Really, I hadn't yet added coolant so it was just water&nbsp;(distilled) and moroso residual from when I drained it. The water looked clayish. If I had added coolant maybe the moroso would have been "disarmed" and using the bleeder screw would have been safe. Bleeding with just moroso and water (even residual moroso - though I didn't flush the system real well) made the screw fatter hence it cracked the radiator. </P> <P>Plus I probably should've had the copper washer of the bleeder replaced. It was getting rather small looking through years of bleeding... The bleeder and the crack are completely covered with the expoxy. I guess I could use a fine/small drill to bleed and then use expoxy again??? <BR><BR></P></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV>&gt;From: Rubatoguy <RUBATOGUY@MINDSPRING.COM> <DIV></DIV>&gt;Reply-To: Rubatoguy <RUBATOGUY@MINDSPRING.COM> <DIV></DIV>&gt;To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <DIV></DIV>&gt;Subject: Leaking coolant <DIV></DIV>&gt;Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 18:06:20 -0700 <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;I've noticed a small leak at the black plastic coolant distributor <DIV></DIV>&gt;on <DIV></DIV>&gt;the front side of the firewall (near the starter).
