I am getting about 10-12 MPG on the Hwy with my '83 1.9L watercooled FI Vanagon, less in town. The exhaust smells extremely rich. Engine runs OK. Timing seems to be correct, though I have no notch on my pulleys and used a ^ shaped mark on the flywheel and centered it in the timing hole. Replaced the O2 sensor, plugs, oil and air filter. Vacuum lines appear properly routed and suspect one relaced. Other rubber air lines seem to be OK. Suggestion as to what to be looking for will be greatly appreciated--and i'll takle anyone who helps me figure this out for a Sunday drive:) Joe Kletch Milwaukee, WI |
