Here's an update to my problem with my '87 Westy... My ISV was frozen with the passageway blocked off. With wiring harness connected it idled at 2000, disconnected it would drop to 1000. Either way it would idle OK but choke under acceleration. I just borrowed a good one to try out. When I cranked the engine, the RPM's soared to about 3500 for a few seconds and then die. It did this several times over. The engine did not have time to warm up. I then disconnected the wiring harness with the passageway in the valve open. The engine would crank, go to around 1200 RPM's, and slowly climb to about 2000, then quickly drop back to 1200. After a few cycles of this it will die. The bus has a new fuel pump, filter and hoses, dist cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel injector relay, O2 sensor in new S&S exhaust, and air filter. Injector seals should be in tomorrow. All of the vacuum lines APPEAR to be in good shape. The Idle Stabilizer appears to be in good condition as well. Thanks for any help, Darren. |
