There's a little clip you must lift up as you slide the seat forward. The seat will stop at the clip to prevent it from sliding all the way forward when you adjust the seat. When removing the seat, If you need both hands to pull the seat forward place a putty knife or screwdriver under the clip to hold it up then push seat forward.
