Hi Warren,


The actuator is trying mightily to close the lock mechanism but failing so
it tries again and again...Pull the rear interior panel and watch the action
from inside with the hatch closed you should be able to see the problem
better.  Of course I don't know what is causing the lock to stall but it
should be much easier to troubleshoot with the panel off.  While you're at
it, you might think about installing an internal cable release so you can
open the hatch from inside.
