Hi all,

Just joined the list and the Vanagon community with my purchase of an '83 Westy. Found the archives and will check there before posting questions.

Here's what I bought:

'83.5 Vanagon Westfalia Wasserboxer 225,000 on chassis 55,000 on new engine and rebuilt transmission Color is ivory and brown, paint is rough from a sandstorm or something in its past. All strucuture is solid Rust above rocker panel under external water and electric hookups 'fridge and sink work, fridge probably need cleaning as it seems weak. Engine runs strong, only 12mpg on hwy Disabled AC, will remove top unit. Pop top in good condition, needs seal, but no leaks Was missing the sway bar, but have used assembly in the way

More as i think of it. I'll send a sepearate post on leaky drain question

Joe Kletch Milwaukee, WI
