Yes this is normal. When my fridge is running I touch the outlet every
time I get out of the van, ot into, the van --- to make sure the fridge is
still lit. I got a chuckle or two when I saw another Westy owner
unconciously do the same thing with his van.  I'm guessing this is a
pretty common habit --- one that you'll probably acquire when you overcome
your FridgeFobia.
