Wait at least a month after new paint to wax I am told by auto paint places-- so that the new paint cures and hardens properly.

William aka Guillermo-de-San-Diego 1989 Vanagon GL Camper

I spent half a day prepping and painting with HVLP system( love it---no overspray) my pop top, and the results are amazing.............I sanded with 320 paper, then gave it 3 coats, waiting until dry to the touch between coats. It looks real good, but if i ever do it again i would........

give it one coat, then you could see anywhere where you need to sand a little more, and sand those areas.........

However, I have had the paint for over a year and now that my kids are finally out of school and I can devote long hours to the van, i can't complain.

Anyone know of a good fiberglass wax I can apply in a few days?

Oh, BTW, I will post my mileage gains from this new slick covering as well as my decreased interior temps in the near future.

Now I can install my solar vent!!!
