OK, so that subject line overstates it a little (a lot). But I had a very proud moment last night. I am replacing the '82 diesel's crappy dial-style radio with one from a '97 Jetta. There have been lots of posts in the archives about routing a second ground wire to the rear speakers. Last night, I pull the glove compartment off to start trying to fish a wire back to the back. I saw that the three wires that VW installed are all contained in a sort of loose vinyl conduit. I thought, hmm, I wonder if I could just slide a wire through the conduit? So I got a fairly thin, stiff, solid core wire, sprayed WD-40 on it, and started feeding it into the the conduit. And what do you know--with a lot of jiggling, it ending up making it back almost all the way. I couldn't get it ALL the way back, so I had to enter the headliner through a heater vent and open the conduit to let out the wire. But it definitely got me thorough the hardship of running the wire up the a-pillar and to the back. Hope this helps someone. I am very pleased with myself.

-Dan
