Subject: 70s Westy to 80s 7-pass; vanagon viking?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

In searching for a new Vanagon I recently remembered one of my friends has an old Westy Bus sitting out at his farm with a pretty dang good interior. I'm looking for a water-cooled Vanagon & keep stumbling upon 7-passenger T-porters. Now, to my knowledge, the only difference in dimensions is like 6" in height but I was thinking that was just the pop-top. Of course I look at the bus & it's clearly rounded while the 80s is more box-like, cubic. I guess I'm just wondering if the conversion can be done (I'm assuming it'll at most be a fun challenge) & how difficult such an endeavor might be? As far as 80s to 80s conversion it seems to me that it certainly possible & not so difficult but this I'm not so sure about. Basically, I'd just like some people to fill me in on how difficult these processes can be & any helpful advice, where ever possible.

On a completely unrelated note, I saw Vanagon Viking for sale, thought I remembered hearing something about it before &, of course, checked the archives. Didn't have much luck finding anything as I was hoping for explanations & pics but only managed to stumble upon vagueness & references. I'm always looking to increase my Vanagon knowledge & couldn't find pics of one anywhere so if anyone could help me out there & I'd appreciate it as well. Thanks a bunch guys, you're the best!
