here here! I agree. It seems to me that there's a Syncro list, a Subaru/Vanagon conversion list and so forth. I'm only on one list (this one), so I don't get to read the sage advice of others on these other lists. How the heck am I supposed to learn about anything?

Sooner or later you'll have split the list into lists for everyone and everyone in their own list. And what good will that be?

Imagine if every faction within every major political party split off into their own parties? You'd have the conservative Dems, the liberal Dems, the moderate Dems, and so forth... Imagine the confusion at election time. The only reason some lobby groups in Washington (such as the NRA) remain strong is that they stick together and don't let petty politics interfere with their common agenda. Otherwise, they'd have no strong voice.

We need one strong voice -- and that is this list, which is stronger with *everyone* in it, than if we split off into a dozen little groups, all of whom don't communicate with each other.

Imagine that we all agree that we would like to petition Michelin to continue to produce the Agillis Tire (the list's favorite)... Now imagine how laughable it sounds if one group does it, but that group is just 3 people (the Tiico,Syncro,Westy list), as opposed to the entire Vanagon List, which represents 2000 potential customers for that tire.

And besides, What's the use of having 6 different lists if the majority of us then have to subscribe to all 6 just because a few don't know how to use their delete key if they don't want to read a message?

Anyhow, my point is, is that we need to stick together. Just being a Vanagon owner of any type makes you part of a small group of people to start with, why are you trying to make that circle even smaller?
